Senior Early Exit Information - Spring Semester

Senior Exit Procedure - Spring Semester

Montana Digital Academy understands the necessity of exiting seniors in time for graduation.  At the same time, MTDA also recognizes that our curriculum is designed to create enough engagement time to justify the awarding of credit.

To facilitate this, MTDA teachers and students should follow these procedures:

  • MTDA will allow seniors on track to graduate the ability to exit courses early.
  • Students, and students alone, are responsible for contacting instructors as soon as second semester starts (and no later than April 1st) with the following information: the date of graduation and whether or not the specific course is required for graduation or is a non-required elective.
  • MTDA teachers will work out a specific plan for students to exit early.  ALL CLASS ASSIGNMENTS will be required in the course, meaning that students may need to work additional hours per week to justify exiting the course early.  The instructor will report a grade back to the district no later than 72 hours before graduation.
  • If the class requires that a final be proctored, the student is responsible for negotiating those services locally.

Students should stay aware of their progress in courses.  Students that don’t make satisfactory progress in courses may not have early exit options available.

If you have any questions or wish to discuss a specific please contact Jason Neiffer, MTDA Curriculum Director.
