MTDA Connect Open for Enrollment

MTDA is thrilled to announce our new enrollment process for Connect Credit Recovery in Fall 2011.  In response to demand from schools across the state, we've worked to streamline our enrollment systems with our SIS.  We encourage facilitators to take part in one of our orientation sessions in the coming weeks; watch the website for details!  Below are the highlights of the new process.  Even returning facilitators are encouraged to read over this information.

Please take note of the new enrollment process, class limit and regular participation expectations.

  • New Enrollment Process - The enrollment process is now exactly the same as our Original Credit classes.  Facilitators will now use the GeniusSIS system to enroll students in the "Fall 2011 Connect" term classes in Genius.  To enroll, follow the directions here: http://montanadigitalacademy.wikispaces.com/GeniusSIS+Information+for+Local+Schools
  • Class Enrollment Limit - As a general rule, please enroll students in no more than 2 classes at one time.  Once students finish a class, they may enroll in another one.  Students in credit recovery classes have done well when they are supported, tracked and allowed to focus upon one or two classes at a time.  If you have a student that you believe justifies additional enrollments, contact Ryan to discuss the situation.
  • Regular Participation Expectation - Students who do not participate in a class for more than 3 weeks at one time may be dropped from their classes and have to re-enroll at a later date.
  • Calendar - Classes open on September 6 and access ends at the end of the day on January 20, 2012.
  • Open enrollment period - Students may enroll and beginning on the first day of the semester.  NOTE: Please allow 24 hours for curriculum to be available to students.  The last date enrollments will be taken for Fall 2011 is December 16, 2011.
  • Grade Reports – Connect Credit Recovery grade reports are only available to facilitators through the PLATO Learning Environment using these directions: http://montanadigitalacademy.wikispaces.com/Creating+Student+Grade+Reports.
  • New Login Directions – Students should log in through GeniusSIS from the “Students” section of the new MTDA website at: http://montanadigitalacademy.org/
  • Offline Assignments – MTDA Coaches will collect and grade all offline assignments using either the toll free fax to e-mail number at 1-855-406-MTDA (6832) or by e-mail attachments that may need to be scanned and sent.
  • Proctored Unit and Semester Tests – School districts should plan for proctoring these tests or communicating with MTDA Staff if they do not intend to do so.
