Program Changes
If you worked with MTDA last year, most policies will remain the same. However, please note the following changes:
- New, tighter deadlines: We will be running much tighter deadlines for entrance/drops for courses. Courses start September 6th. Please make every effort to enroll your students before the start of the course. After the 6th, we will only be able to honor registrations for course we have room in. We will NOT create new sections after September 6th. The add deadline for courses is September 13th and the drop deadline is September 27th.
- Textbooks for AP courses: MTDA will not cover the costs of textbooks for AP students this school year. That cost is either the district’s or student’s responsibility. Textbook needs are listed in the detailed course catalog (see link above). Textbooks are required ASAP in each course so please help facilitate this requirement for your students.
- Live student orientation: MTDA will offer live, optional student orientation sessions with Jason, our curriculum director. We will annonce dates and signup next week.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the tuition rate or fees for 2011-2012? MTDA is pleased to announced that we will keep our tuition-free model for 2011-2012. We want to work closely with Montana schools to be sure that our resources are used wisely as we do not have unlimited funds to support student services.
Do students have to purchase textbooks or supplies? Generally speaking, most MTDA courses do not require the purchase of supplies as most of the materials are integrated directly into the course. The only notable exception is Advanced Placement courses. Most of our Advanced Placement courses require purchasing a textbook at either individual student or district expense. MTDA does NOT cover the costs of AP textbooks.
Will MTDA have middle school offerings next year? MTDA will offer our MLS program next year, the Multi-Language Sampler. MTDA will offer four seven-week terms, each with 3-4 language options for students, including Spanish, German, French, Latin and Mandarin.
