MLS Session 4 Information

Hello and welcome to the second Spring 2012 session of the MTDA Middle School MLS program.  This information sheet is intended for schools supporting MLS students but may contain information useful director to students and parents.

Usernames and Passwords

Usernames and passwords for students were distributed to students via email the moment they were enrolled them at MTDA.  If an individual student doesn't have their username/password, have them check their SPAM folder first.  If it isn't there, there are two procedures to consider.

  • Local site facilitators have the ability to look up usernames and passwords; see here: link.
  • Contact Rayleen Hicks change the password.  Please call her from 8am to 4:30pm, Monday-Friday, 406-243-4619.

Orientation Video

We have created a brief orientation for your students.  The video lasts 6 minutes and gives the basics on how to access courses and find assignments.  Due to various filtering regimes, we have put the video in three different places in an attempt to make it universally accessible:

Course Start

The course curriculum will begin on Monday, March 26, 2012.  It is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Course Scheduling

The MLS program will follow its own course calendar.  We have assignments scheduled for each week day during the session except the Friday before Easter weekend.  Our calendar is located here: link.

If your school runs an alternative calendar (four day school week, block schedule, etc.), please work with students to keep ahead of the curve on the curriculum.

Hardware Requirements

As a reminder, students need to have access to some kind of audio system (we strongly recommend headphones for your sake, especially if you have a lot of kids doing it at once in the same room!) and something to record (microphone, headset, etc.).
